A fabulous sounding all-female panel at ComicCon featuring actors Maggie Q (Divergent, Nikita), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead, The Visitor), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, World Without End), Katee Sackhoff (Riddick, Battlestar Galactica), and Michelle Rodriguez (Machete Kills, Avatar). The panel was moderated by staff from Entertainment Weekly. Questions from the audience touched on sexism, impractical costumes for female action stars, and experiences working in male-dominated genres of the industry.

Reportedly parts of the audience reacted badly to the panel. There were many online comments that the panel wasn't right for the con or for the particular hall it was held in. These complaints were numerous despite the popularity among ComicCon attendees of the TV shows and blockbuster movies of the panel's participants.

Other reviews derided the sexist remarks from the audience, and voiced support for the panel's inclusion at ComicCon in Hall H on a Saturday afternoon.

AV Club writer Todd VanDerWerff's thorough review of ComicCon, published on Grantland, was quoted in many articles and blog posts discussing the panel. VanDerWerff, a longtime attendee of ComicCon, described the schedule and venue as gutsy, and deemed the panel to be the "most fascinating and enriching" of the entire conference.
