(Moved from article) Considering I just got blocked for linking to something here as posting "off wiki," I think this better get closed down before someone else gets blocked. It didn't even occur to me this might be a problem. CmDC

"Problems" with Wikipedia.[]

The layout of this article leaves to be desired. The majority of it comes under the description of things with which feminists have problems, however the elements below, are not necessarily problems with Wikipedia, so much as some of Wikipedia's editors. Specific examples being the first two items in the "Incidents" section, which show that after unacceptable behaviour, the offender was disciplined. It seems to me that if Wikipedia's policies defend people from these attacks, the problem is not with Wikipedia, but some of its editors. Additionally, that the Cabal Hottie article appears to have at worst gone through the trouble of making the gender spread of their example list equal, and at best done so without conscious effort. - 142.167.188.222 12:15, October 2, 2011 (UTC)

"Wikipedia" here is used as a metonym for the encyclopedia itself and its community. This is broadly speaking how the rest of this wiki works too. FLOSS, for example, largely doesn't list problems within the actual software, but within the FLOSS community. Thayvian 01:00, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
