Geek Feminism Wiki

here is ad example of a fail:

Geekfeminism wiki fail

"as if" cindy crawford style at JC Penny's is really relevant.

Note also, in the image upload javascript box, there was also a NSFW example image of a rear-end-wearing-thong

turn off ads[]

Maybe consider turning off ads, especially if the content cannot be controlled. Sure it may be wikia's fault, but nothing is more shocking and counter-productive than seeing an offensive image on these pages.

BDSM[]

What is this wiki's stance on consensual BDSM? Do note that I, as a masochistic feminist, find some of this wiki's content offensive for insinuating that all BDSM is exploitative of women and that masochistic women either do not exist or are damaged and do not deserve the right to express their sexuality in a fulfilling manner. --Dragonclaws(talk) 17:27, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

AFAIK there's no "official" stance. I've brought this to the attention of people who can hopefully make informed comment. In the meantime, can you cite specific examples of the content that bothers you please? Thayvian (talk) 21:18, October 16, 2012 (UTC)
If you find content that insinuates this, please either edit to fix it or make a comment about it on the talk page. This is supposed to be an inclusive wiki that doesn't make anyone feel unwelcome on the basis of their sexuality. In practice, all kinds of stuff can slip in that doesn't represent the organizers' views (and has in the past), so help watching for it is always appreciated. Monadic (talk)
