Jason Calacanis is a tech entrepreneur and investor who has on several occasions been involved in sexist and racist incidents.

In 2010 Jillian York blogged Jason Calacanis shows his horribly bigoted stripes quoting him expressing racist/bigoted views against people from the Middle East.

In 2013 Calacanis claimed there was no racism in tech, and that people just needed to "hustle" more. This was reported in various media including eg. Gawker's article Racism doesn't exist in tech because white tech blog millionaire Jason Calacanis has never seen it. In followup conversations, he called Anil Dash (an Asian American blogger and entrepreneur) racist for pointing out his (Calacanis's) privilege.

In January 2014 he tweeted a photo of women at a "female founders" party he was running, in defense of his claim that he supports gender diversity. Shanley Kane responded pointing out that the chance of his event's lineup having the low number of women speakers it had, if it wasn't due to gender bias, was 0.03%.

In April 2014 in response to the Gurbaksh Chahal domestic violence conviction incident, Calacanis put out a $10,000 bounty to acquire the video footage of the incident. Coverage by Model View Culture said:

Jason Calacanis, who some might call a fixture of the Blameful Post Mortem, put a $10,000 bounty on the video of a woman being violently attacked by the CEO of a tech company. Where can we begin with how predatory, violent and opportunistic this is? Shame on you, Jason. Source
