Ad feminam refers to an ad hominem attack used to discredit an argument simply because a woman made it.
This term is documented in mainstream dictionaries and dates back to at least 1963.
Examples
- Asking a woman making an argument "Is it your time of the month?" is an example of ad feminam. (It would also be cissexist.)
